The Apartment

A delightful, spacious apartment, situated on the ground floor of a country Villa, surrounded by private level lawned gardens and acres of olive trees, with open views from every room. There is plenty of room for children to play and run about in a safe environment and with a triple swing set, a seesaw, a slide and other play equipment including a full size outdoor table tennis table, makes it perfect for children of all ages.

The well equipped apartment comfortably sleeps 6 people in 3 double bedrooms and has a lovely sitting out and barbecue area, where you can sit back, relax and observe a sea of olive trees and grape vines. With the Maiella Mountains in the background it makes a perfect spot to relax while sampling the local wines.

The apartment is superbly positioned for peace and quiet, yet close to all amenities and within walking distance of shops, bars and a lovely restaurant.

Staying here you have the best of both worlds, as we are just 20-25 minutes from the Adriatic coast with its lovely clean golden sands and 20 minutes from the
stunning Gran Sasso Mountains, the highest in the Apennines. It is possible to safely go deep into the mountains and explore areas others perhaps have not!

We are also just a short pleasant walk from various restaurants, shops, bars & wine cantinas. There are also many other great restaurants within 5km that you could eat in a different place every night of your holiday.

The apartment is situated off a very quiet private road, which serves just one further property, meaning passing traffic is at a minimum. There are no narrow or winding roads approaching the Villa, so is very easily accessible.

If you decide to 'eat in' you can relax in your own private patio area, with the use of a fixed barbecue, set amongst 3 acres of olive groves.

Fresh figs from the garden, our own olive oil
           and homemade limoncello

From the patio area, you get far reaching views over the countryside with the impressive Maiella Mountains in the back ground, where glorious sunsets can be observed.

A lovely 15 minute walk takes you to the ruined tower of Raone, which dates back to the 11th Century. From this area you get 360 degree views of the area including the two mountain ranges of the Maiella and the Gran Sasso. The tower is situated on public land so is a great place to enjoy a picnic and a glass or two of the local vino as you sit back and watch the sun go down. Plenty of wildlife can be seen on the walk to and from the tower. Wild boar, hares and owls are regular sights.

If you want to leave your car at home there is a lovely restaurant and bar  just 15 minutes walk away, along a straight, quiet, pleasant road. A further 5 minutes walk takes you to the village of Passo Cordone with a whole host of other bars and shops, so you can forget the car and try the local produce.

If you want a quiet night in enjoying a relaxing evening eating and drinking then the only excitement you will have is watching the geese in the field opposite and then the further excitement of watching them being rounded up, Loreto Aprutino style!
